Pregnancy Warning
July 20, 2010
A study from Utrecht University in the Netherlands found that eating nuts every day may increase your baby’s odds of developing asthma by 49%. Some compounds in nuts, like linoleic acid, “may interfere with the development of the baby’s immnue system.” John Heffner, M.D. says that pregnant women shouldn’t skip peanut butter and almonds entirely. Instead, play it safe by limiting your nut intake to 2-3 servings per week.
